How difficult are the treks? Do I need experience?

Our treks range from Easy to Difficult. Easy treks like Gokyo Lakes are suitable for beginners with good fitness. Moderate treks require regular hiking experience. Challenging and Difficult treks need advanced mountaineering skills. We recommend 6 months of physical preparation for all high-altitude treks.

What fitness level do I need?

You should be able to hike 6-8 hours daily with a 15kg backpack. We recommend cardio training, leg strengthening exercises, and practice hikes. A medical check-up is required, especially for those over 50. Most importantly, start training 4-6 months before your trek.

Will I get altitude sickness?

Altitude sickness can affect anyone above 3,000m regardless of fitness level. Our itineraries include proper acclimatization days. Symptoms include headache, nausea, and fatigue. We carry medical supplies and our guides are trained in altitude sickness recognition and treatment.

When is the best time to trek?

The best seasons are Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). Spring offers blooming rhododendrons and clear views. Autumn provides excellent visibility and stable weather. Winter treks are possible but extremely cold. Monsoon season (June-August) brings heavy rain and is not recommended.

How do I book a trek?

You can book a trek through our website or by contacting our customer service team. Visit our Booking Help page for detailed instructions.

Click "Book Now" on any trek page, fill out the booking form with your details and preferences. Pay a 25% deposit to secure your spot. Full payment is due 60 days before departure. We'll send you a detailed pre-departure guide once booked.

Do I need a visa for Nepal?

Most nationalities can get a tourist visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport. Cost is $30 for 15 days, $50 for 30 days, or $125 for 90 days. You need a passport valid for 6 months and a passport photo. You can also apply online in advance through the Department of Immigration Nepal.

What permits do I need?

We handle all permit arrangements. TIMS card is required for most treks ($20). National park permits vary by region: Sagarmatha (Everest) $30, Annapurna $30, Langtang $30. Special permits needed for restricted areas like Upper Mustang ($500) and Manaslu ($70). All permits are included in our packages.

Are international flights included?

IInternational flights are not included in our packages. We can help arrange flights from Canada at competitive rates. Domestic flights within Nepal (like Kathmandu-Lukla) are included where specified. We recommend arriving 2 days early to allow for domestic flight delays. Visit our Contact Us page for assistance.

Where will I stay during the trek?

Most treks use tea houses (mountain lodges) with basic rooms and shared bathrooms. Some remote treks require camping with our tents and equipment. Tea houses provide beds with blankets, but we recommend bringing your own sleeping bag. Hot showers are available for extra cost at most location

What food is provided?

We provide a variety of nutritious meals during the trek, including local Nepali dishes, as well as international cuisine. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

Is drinking water safe?

We advise against drinking tap water. Boiled water and water purification tablets are available. Staying hydrated is crucial, and our guides will ensure access to safe drinking water.

What should I pack?

We provide a detailed packing list after booking. Essential items include: warm sleeping bag, waterproof jacket and pants, insulated boots, layers for varying temperatures, first aid kit, and personal items. Weight limit is 15kg for porter-carried bags plus your day pack. See our Travel Tips page for a complete packing list.

Can I rent equipment in Nepal?

Yes, high-quality trekking gear is available for rent in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Items include sleeping bags, jackets, boots, and backpacks. We can arrange rentals or you can visit Thamel area in Kathmandu. Renting is cost-effective for occasional trekkers.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance including helicopter evacuation up to 6,000m is mandatory. Standard travel insurance doesn't cover high-altitude trekking. We recommend World Nomads or similar specialized adventure travel insurance. Coverage should include medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and trip cancellation.
