In peak months (March, April, May, September, October, and November), the adventure starts with a 5-6 hour drive from Kathmandu to Manthali, followed by a shorter 20 minutes flight to Lukla.

Detailed Itinerary: Kathmandu Valley Tour with Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu  (1345m/4412ft)

Today is the first day of Kathmandu Valley Tour with Everest Base Camp Trek of 14 Days. Our Airport Coordinator will meet you when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. After that, a personal tourist car will transport you to your accommodation. Spend the remainder of the day unwinding, resting from your trip, and exploring the surrounding area after checking in.

 

Day 02: Half-day Kathmandu Valley Tour and Trek Preparation

Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu after a morning meal on the second day of your trip. Discover several of the city's World Heritage Sites listed by UNESCO, like Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Immerse yourself in the spiritual realm of the Himalayan nation.

 

Walk into the Old city of Bhaktapur, where you can mesmerize the architect of the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and reflect on the alleys of the Newari styled locality. It is one of the oldest cities of Nepal. In the afternoon, head back to the hotel to get ready for your trek. Make sure your permits and trekking equipment are prepared.

 

Day 03:  Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and Trek to Phakding (2610m/8563ft)

Take an exciting 30-minute flight over the Himalayan range from Kathmandu to Lukla early in the morning on the third day of your trip. Lukla's Tenzing Norgay Airport welcomes you with a vista of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. When you arrive in Lukla, the breathtaking views and refreshing mountain air will make the trip even more exciting. Join your trekking group when you get to Lukla.

 

After that, we set out on a journey from Lukla to Phakding. The trek from Lukla to Phakding will take approximately three to four hours. Stretching along the Dudh Koshi River and passing through multiple Sherpa villages, the trek is rather easy. Upon arriving in Phakding, you will go via the Buddhist communities of Chheplung and Nurning. You will certainly be astounded by the surreal sights of the mani walls, gumpas, prayer flags, and praying wheels. You will be staying in teahouses in Phakding, where you may savor regional Nepali cuisine like Tarkari, Bhaat, and Daal.

 

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft)

Today is the fourth day of the trek and you will begin your trek with views of the Dudh Koshi River. Cross suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags and enter Sagarmatha National Park, where your trekking permits will be checked. The scenery opens up once you pass the well-known Hillary Bridge, revealing terraced farmland and the distant outlines of the peaks.

 

The final stretch to Namche Bazaar is a challenging ascent but the reward is surreal. Thanks to their magnificent sunsets, Namche Bazaar welcomes you with expansive vistas of Mount Everest along with its neighboring peaks, such as Nuptse. Known as the "Gateway to Everest," Namche is a vibrant destination for Mount Lhotse, Mount Thamserku, and other mountains of the region. Namche is a busy rural town with many merchants selling handicrafts, restaurants, and other goods. The ideal spot for adapting to the elevation and Sherpa lifestyle.

 

Day 05: Namche to Debuche (3680m/12070ft) via Tengboche Monastery

From Namche Bazaar, the route begins to gain elevation once again, and the fifth day's trek takes you through rhododendron forests, offering breath-taking views of Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Lhotse, and Mount Everest. After several hours of hiking, we arrived at Phunke Tenga town, which is situated halfway down the route. After a short stroll, we will arrive in Tengboche, a stunning Sherpa town.

 

Tengboche, considered one of the major religious centers in this region, is home to the famous Tengboche monastery. The location of the monastery lies directly beneath the Everest mountain range and the surrounding view of the mountains is incredible. It is truly breathtaking during morning and evening prayers when the lamas can be heard reciting their ancient mantras. When trekkers visit the Tengboche monastery, they hope that their Mount Everest Expedition or Everest Base Camp Trek will be a success.

 

Crossing the Tengboche monastery, we will head towards Debuche, a small town located 30 minutes from Tengboche. The road to Debuche is mostly downhill and less crowded than Tengboche. It is a moderate trek today, as we hike from bustling Namche Bazaar to Debuche passing via the Tengboche Monastery. It is a quite tiring day and Debuche is a place to have some relief for today. And the surrounding lush terrain is a nice spot to unwind and reflect on the events that have taken place during the adventure.

 

Day 06: Debuche to Dingboche (4410m/14464 ft)

Today is the sixth day of the Kathmandu Valley Tour with Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days. You will start your journey from Debuche to Dingboche today. Walking via the cool forest of the Debuche trail on a sunny morning, you head towards the Phangboche Village. You can observe the magnificent view of Mount Ama Dablam towering above you as you pass through Phangboche. From Phangboche youwill pass via the Shomare Village. Shomare is a small village where you can stop for the teahouses and take a rest for a while and it is also a popular stop for the Dingboche and Pheriche route.

 

From Shomare Village you will take a turn towards Dingboche and pass along the large chortens, mani walls and detailed painted rock faces; and even observe a small herd of Himalayan Tahr, mountain goats as you ascend towards Dingboche. Dingboche is popular for its complex terrain patterns, and is a strung out valley in the region. You can see some musk deer if you are lucky enough during the trek to Dingboche. When you arrive in Dingboche, you can see climbers planning to go to Island Peak as the Island Peak Base Camp trail crosses from here. You can even observe the beauty of Island Peak from Dingboche.

 

Day 07: Day hiking up to Nagatsang Ri (5000m/16500ft) and back to Dingboche (4410m/14464ft)

On the seventh day of Kathmandu Valley Tour with Everest Base Camp Trek, you will hike to Nangkartshang Ri (5,000m). Nangkartshang Ri hike is also known as the acclimatization hike from Dingboche. Nangkartshang Ri is a breath-taking viewpoint in Khumbu region. You can observe the magnificent Mount Kangtega, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Taboche, etc. which are all visible in their full glory from the summit. After getting some personal time and enjoying the acclimatization day you will now return to Dingboche to take a rest on the day off.

 

Day 08: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m/16104ft)

Today is the eighth day of the trek and you will start it from Dingboche to Lobuche, you will ascend slowly high uphill via the rugged terrain. Today's trek will take around four and half hours and will take you up to (4,910m). The surrounding is snowy, rocky and you will find summer grazing settlements.

To take lunch, you can find a small settlement known as Dughla (Thokla) during the hike to Lobuche which is also the center point of the Pheriche and Dingboche route. It can be crowded with groups heading in both directions. Lobuche Khola can be seen from the uphill as you pass via the Sherpa Memorial Area. Lobuche is a little village nestled beneath the majestic peaks of Nuptse and Pumori.

 

Day 09: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17590ft) and back to Gorak Shep (5353m/17557ft)

The Gorak Shep is going to be the following trek after Lobuche. This is the final village in the Khumbu area, which sits isolated on a barren sandy valley but offers a striking contrast to the surrounding peaks.

You trek directly onto the Khumbu Glacier from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp. Encircled by high barriers of ice, the entire experience is sentimental and unreal as one looks at them in the scary shadow of Mount Everest. You'll likely notice colorful tents scattered across the glacier during the peak climbing season, as hundreds of people get ready to go.

An amazing panorama of Mount Everest itself can be seen from the Everest Base Camp, which is encircled by the Mahalangur Mountain, range's like Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other features. You head back to Gorak Shep for a restful night after touring the Everest Base Camp.

 

Day 10: Hiking up Kalapathar(5545m/18220ft) and Trek down to Pheriche (4210m/13808ft)

Once you trek to Kala Patthar, the day will start as the sun rises. With amazing panoramas of the Mahalangur Mountain Range, this is the tallest summit one can hike to get an overview of Mount Everest. In addition, the early rising allows you to witness the first light hitting the summit of Mount Everest.

At 5,545 meters above sea level, the view from here is not simply one of the more well-known yet one among the most captivating on the journey. With a wide, colorful sky and some breathtaking views of the Khumbu Valley and other hills, you may gaze up on Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse from here.

Enjoy this extraordinary view before heading downward to Gorak Shep and then down to Pheriche, where the landscape transitions to a well-known alpine green.

 

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11285ft)

You will descend from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar on the eleventh day of the Kathmandu Valley Tour with Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days. The trekking trail will lead us past hills covered with lush forests, so it's no surprise that Mount Ama Dablam has a lot to offer.

And Namche Bazaar reveals itself once more. Enjoy the warmth and vibrancy of the Sherpa town while spending a moment in one of these cozy cafés and bakeries. This is a great place to treat yourself.

 

Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2850m/9348ft)

The trek follows the same winding route from Namche down to Lukla. It passes through charming villages, across a number of raised bridges, and winds through deep pines and fir forest, all of which are recognizable to travelers.

A single step entering Lukla will safely conclude the trek, but the memory of those mountains, the Sherpa culture, and hearing the voices of all the other trekkers sounding off are truly amazing.

 

Day 13: Fly Back to Kathmandu  (1345m/4412ft)

We will take a flight from Tenzing Norgay Airport in Lukla back to Tribhuvan International Airport after finishing the Everest Base Camp Trek. After traveling to Kathmandu for forty-five minutes, you will be taken to your hotel. You can simply relax at your accommodation or visit the capital's bustling towns.

 

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu

Your time in Nepal is coming to an end today. You are going to be escorted to Tribhuvan International Airport by an agent . After that, you'll board a plane to return home.
